Freya Ridings

Freya Ridings is a British singer, songwriter and pianist from London. She attended the legendary BRIT School, a place that inspired her to develop her own unique sound. Her expressive voice, piano-driven melodies and highly personal lyrics remain at the heart of her music to this day.

Since her breakthrough top 10 single “Lost Without You” in 2017, Ridings has established herself as one of Britain’s most impressive singer-songwriters, penning not only tender ballads, but also the kinds of powerful songs that make you want to punch the air. Her breakthrough single has been streamed almost half a billion times on Spotify alone, and her self-titled debut album from 2019 and its 2023 follow-up “Blood Orange” both hit the top 10 in the UK album charts. These successes have brought her to audiences around the world and earned her a BRIT nomination for Best Solo Artist.

Ridings released her third studio album “Mother of Pearl” in 2026. Its tracks show off a more musically multifaceted, powerful and personal side of her music. Songs like “Wild Horse”, “I Have Always Loved You”, “Dancing in the Kitchen” and “Wicker Woman” combine her distinctive voice with emotional songwriting and new musical influences. During the writing process, she had to dig deep and uncover reserves she didn’t know she had, finding a rich source of wisdom and femininity that is more relevant today than ever before. In her own words: “Getting to create, sing and play these songs and have them exist in the real world, that feels like winning to me.”

Freya Ridings creates emotional, singer-songwriter pop with influences from the worlds of soul, folk and alternative pop. At its heart are her powerful voice, piano and honest lyrics, with tracks ranging from intimate ballads to immense, anthemic arrangements.

Freya Ridings will appear at Art on Ice from 4 to 13 February 2027, her powerful voice and emotional songs creating memorable moments in Zurich, Fribourg and Davos.
