Gjon's Tears
The Swiss ESC star
2022 Gjon’s Tears not only won over Switzerland but the whole of Europe with “Tout L’Univers” (The Whole Universe). Third place in the Eurovision Song Contest catapulted the 24-year-old into the international limelight from overnight. Gjon’s stage name stems from a childhood experience: when he was nine years old he moved his grandfather to tears with a rendition of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love”.
Gjon appeared on a big stage for the first time in 2012, as a teenager. He reached the semi-finals in TV show “Die grössten Schweizer Talente” (Switzerland’s Got Talent)). Instead of advancing his stage career, however, he decided to take a six-year break and attended the Conservatoire in Bulle. At the same time he also trained as a primary school teacher. Show director Oliver Höner is pleased to have signed Gjon’s Tears. “Gjon has new songs lined up that are just about to be released. This is precisely the right time to bring him on stage at Art on Ice.”
