Deanna Stellato-Dudek started her career as an individual skater and won the Grand Prix Finale in 1999 and the silver medal at the Junior World Championships in 2000. The ice skater ended her career that year but returned 16 years later, at the age of 33, in a new discipline, pairs skating. Maxime Deschamps has been skating in pairs with various partners since 2007. In 2019 he finally found his way to Deanna Stellato-Dudek.
Since then they have won several Grand Prix and the World Championship in 2024. Stellato-Dudek was 40 when she won the World Championship, making her the oldest woman ever to win World Championship gold in any ice skating discipline. This title and record are further testament to her absolutely unique career. And the pair have broken new ground yet again in Olympic season: they are the first couple to perform a somersault in competition, in that Deschamps throws his partner into the air and she lands on the knifelike blades after a backwards somersault.
