SWISS CHAMPIONSHIP: LUKAS BRITSCHGI FOR THE SIXTH TIME, LEANDRA TZIMPOUKAKIS CAUSES A SENSATION

The country's best athletes impressed at the 2026 Swiss Junior and Senior Championships. Leading the way were European champion Lukas Britschgi and 16-year-old surprise winner Leandra Tzimpoukakis, who thrilled the audience with their performances.

European champion Lukas Britschgi secured his sixth Swiss Championship title in Lugano with a strong performance and a lead of over 55 points. He was once again in a class of his own, thrilling the audience with a total of three clean quadruple jumps and proving that he is on track for the European Championships and the Olympics. Ean Weiler took silver, having already performed with the Art on Ice young talents in 2024 and 2025.

In the women’s competition, Leandra Tzimpoukakis made a big impression! The 16-year-old skater from the Dübendorf Ice Skating Club, who is also a member of the Art on Ice Young Talents programme, won her first Swiss Championship title with 194.10 points. “This is a dream come true for me!” said Tzimpoukakis, who is actually still too young to compete in the elite category. Like Anastasia Brandenburg, however, she received special permission from Swiss Ice Skating. Brandenburg, who is also 16 and a young talent, celebrated remarkable success in her elite debut by winning the bronze medal.

Our young talents also enjoyed great success in the junior categories: Gion Schmid and Valeriya Ezhova won gold, while Elisabeth Dibbern took silver. The overall level of competition was extremely high. Fourth place for Olivia Bacsa, fifth place for Noélie Haymoz and seventh place for Marina Sekulovski are also highly remarkable.
